SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 CU1 TS Client not installing

Hi

 

Recently i have been having major issues with my win 7 task sequences, I'm hoping someone can help me! Basically the TS works until i get to the end of the client install it then goes straight to the logon screen and skips the application step. When i then log into windows the client is partly installed and corrupt with only 2 actions.

 

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

A few things you can try

 

1) recreate the client package if it doesn't install properly on any task sequence on any computer (vm or physical)

2) swap the deployed image to one that works in another task sequence - or the alternate, copy a working task sequence and just swap the image into that one

3) deploy to a vm or different pc and check it's not that model if it is check/disable the drivers that are being installed (particularly the nic one)

4) recapture the reference making sure you have uninstalled any AV or sccm client that was on it

What OS are you deploying? I had this problem whilst deploying Windows 10 a while back and never found a solution, despite pouring over countless CCM logs

 

I think actually it ended up being something to do with my product key, either way after recreating the TS about twenty times it eventually worked for long enough to deploy the OS to my netbooks.

Thanks for the responses! Have tried a few of suggestions already with no luck and have a working TS that i have copied and then adjusted the driver steps but it still doesn't install the client properly or attempt the application install i'm deploying windows 7 enterprise x86. Its driving me MAD!

I sort of consider it cheating but the install log for the sccm client may shine some light on the problem. c:\windows\ccm\logs\smsts.log iirc (but there are a lot of logs and you may want to google it for the right one).

Little bit of an update! Have since found that my laptop task sequences work (Very Strange) however most of my other TS's fail to install the client properly and ultimately send the client into provisioning mode.

I have tried the suggested command lines after the client step to bring it out of provisioning but that still doesn't work. Anyone else had this issue?
