Hi,

I know this has been asked before but I can't find anything that works so .... I've got an individual report with a photo but the photo comes out almost A4 size. I've put the tag in a single cell table which helps when you resize it but doesn't actually restrict the size of the photo even though the cell size is fixed. Short of having to resize and reupload all the photos to SIMS is there anything I can do?

Thankyou

If you've managed to get the photo onto the report and in a cell, then it should scale with it.

How did you get the photo in there, it's different for ind. reps. but for an rtf type report there were modifiers for the actual tag which would let you scale it.

It's an individual report. The tag is in a cell, the cell outline is then when you run the report but the photo takes over most of the page, you have to drag it to resize it.

You should try editing the table properties to restrict the size and don't let it fit contents, or expand. Just a fixed row height should do the trick, but look at all properties.

I've got a fixed cell, the cell stays the right size but not the photo. What I actually get is a cell outline with the top left part of the picture in it and then the outline of the whole photo taking up the page, as you drag the corners in it fits to the cell but it's a pain to do with each one. Picture has come out a bit small but shows the part of the report with the photo.

I think it's a flaw in the system. Most threads on MyAccount have no solution short of resizing the actual photo and re-uploading to the students, that or manually resizing the output by hand one at a time.

The closest is a thread where someone suggests fixing the cell height and this worked, but I don't know if that will work if your photos are huge.

Just double check it's the cell height that was fixed not the row. (Clutching at straws, but Word can do funny things).

In rft reports I seem to remember you can resize photos by adding a % to the tag itself. I'm not sure if the same works on Ind Repts or exactly what the syntax is, but you could try Editting the photo tags to

It's been tested - reported failure on MyAccount forums.

@vikpaw is right, I've just tried that and it doesn't work. My photos were coming out a reasonable size though, which makes me think if you find a program to resize the photo files themselves (stored on the same drive as SIMS). I have a funny feeling they're in a Nova T folder but the gods of network access aren't smiling so I can't check. I'd keep a copy of the originals though in case something goes wrong.

Good luck, Ed

Unfortunately, I think they are actually in the SQL as a blob or whatever format it likes, so you'd have to export if you don't have originals (use SalamanderSoft for that), resize, then re-import.

A shame really, because for other reports scaling works and it is nicer to have hi-res.

It has been noted as a flaw on MyAccount - not sure if a change request has been created though.
