speckled Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 I want to rename the file extension of all the student users ntuser.dat to ntuser.man, i have this powershell script that will do the rename but powershell cant see the files as they are hidden, i am a complete powershell novice so any help to achieve this task would be appreciated. dir -recurse *.dat | rename-item -newname { $_.name -replace '.dat','.MAN' }
speckled Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 Thanks for that Steve that did the trick , i have just found out there are a lot of files in the user profiles dir with the extension of .dat, do you know how i would just target the ntusers.dat file?
Steve21 Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Can't you just change the *.DAT to the actual name? Steve
