Disable DirectEdit for all users

Does anyone know how to disable DirectEdit for all users?

yes steve21 hit the nail on the head it removes the direct edit option from the bar at the top.

 

To do a quick work around for now I've just commented out this line:

 

 

 

I wanted to do the same to avoid confusion
