Ok all just purchased while on sale, and I'm guessing the learning curve is a big one just trying to get through the tutorial really struggling to land the god damn thing.

But once I have completed it what should I do the game seems to be a mammoth one and help and tutorials are not great and good place to start?

I mostly just traded at first and took a few missions - just the steady grind getting bigger and better ships. Once I had a cobra, I moved to long trading runs of rares. There may be better options now - there has been quite a bit of rebalancing.

Thanks your a star also what do you all use for controls are mouse and keyboard good enough?

personally I have an X55 possibly the best 100 pound I have spent on a piece of gaming equipment, but I started playing using a 360 controller! remember this is also out on a 360 so if a console can play it with just a controller then pretty sure your pc can too...

but I also use voicepacks to talk to the pc so I tell my ship supercruise and off it goes... I also have a delanclip so I can look around it comes in handy when dogfighting!

phew...

I went:

X52 Pro HOTAS (keyboard mouse was great for Eve-Online but you need to feel like you're flyin the thing proper in ED).

EDTracker for headtrack movement (never looked back since; well I can but you know what I mean).

Voice Attack (self-programmed with added voice of Emma bought through Ivona).

If you wanna knock up a few credits quickly and fairly easily, work your way into a cheap Zorgon Hauler and fit with as much cargo as can, make way to Meredith City (LFT 926) buy Land Enrichment Systems, take one hop to Faraday Ring (Bunda), sell pick up Tea, bring back to Meredith (each station less than 400ls form system arrive point). Jump into Type-6 as soon as possible and grind for a bit until you have at least a few Mil before you get exited and by expensive stuff; it's very easy to get quickly dumped back into a sidewinder with pence in ya pants because you didn't have contingency to cover ship buy-back insurance :) flay safe.
