Techdw Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Hi, Currently staff OST files are stored in the homedrive of that user and they are using roaming profiles. When a user is logged onto a PC emails are fine, when they log onto the laptop they have and and try using outlook 2013 it says this. (Link copied from google) https://support.microsoft.com/Library/Images/3072624.png If a user log of the PC the email works and if they log onto the laptop the PC email will not work. All profiles are stored on the server. GPO- Default location for OST files: %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH% Any ideas on this one. Thanks,
featured_spectre Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Yeah I've come across this before for Outlook 2007 and 2010. The fix was the same for each. Make sure outlook isn't running. In control panel, click on the email profiles. delete the email profile and start outlook again. It will rebuild the OST. PITA but it's how I fixed it, and it RARELY happened afterwards.
Rob_D Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Don't know if it's the same for you, but when we had outlook profile problems before it was because users had outlook open in two places (different computers/laptops) at the same time. Doesn't seem to be a way around this, other than training staff not to do it.
featured_spectre Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 That's one of the causes. We ended up making a group policy so that a person couldn't log in twice, regardless of domain level. Worked a charm, but the OST problem still occurred. As a result resetting the profile fixed it thereafter.
