Archipelego1 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Afternoon all, I'm trying to find a solution to being able to use app inventor offline. Checking the forums and 'google-ing' a solution, I've come across two possible solutions. One is Axe's MIT AppInventor V2, the other is Ai2Live. Unfortunately, I'm not able to get either working. With Axe's software, I follow the instructions and install everything. I can get the emulator running but can't see how you can access anything offline. The open app inventor button sends me to MIT's website, which isn't what I expected. I thought I'd have been directed to an offline website. Moving on, I thought I'd give Ai2Live a try. Again, followed the instructions and managed to get the local version of the App Inventor website working on This is a CDN address. However, when I click on the connect to emulator option, the emulator loads and the companion app fires up. I then receive an error in the Offline App Inventor website telling me : the companion version you are using is out of date. The version of app inventor should be used with companion version 2.17ai2zx1. Right, I thought. Back to google. I came across articles that tells me, specific versions of App Inventor expects a specific version of the companion app. Looking at the ReadMe for Ai2, it does reference needing to install the companion .apk file in the install folder, onto the device. So, my device is the Emulator...I think. More google-ing tells me I need to run the following command to install the companion app onto the emulator : adb -e install -r companion_app_name.apk. I do this and get the following error : Failure [install_parse_failed_inconsistent_certificates] rm failed for -f, read-only file system. So, after this long post, I'm appealing to everyone here.... can you help? Is anyone running App Inventor OffLine? Is anyone doing it like me and if so, have you come across the error? I'd rather not sign up everyone for google accounts. We use O365, so I don't want to sign up for Google's Apps for Education, no matter how good or bad it is. Any advise or assistance is greatly appreciate.
Archipelego1 Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 Hi all, looks like noone is able to assist with the problem I'm having. Can I enquire, is anyone running App Inventor offline? If so, what are you using?
