Hi everyone,

 

I just wanted to introduce myself and NetSupport, and say hi as the new sponsors of the Enterprise Software forum. It's low cost, and covers all the main things a school needs to manage its network ( Inventory, licensing, Distribution, R/C, Alerting, Print Monitoring, Power Management, Change History, Application and Internet controls etc). It also offers a few more techie based tools, SNMP device discovery and monitoring, AD user account management, AD and enterprise alerts when new devices are discovered, user accounts are locked etc and lots more.

I'm a big fan of pretty looking software, and that DNA product looks very nice.

 

One question I have is about BYOD, its something I'm looking at monitoring more in my school but wondering if any products have a way of supporting it yet.

Thank you, I am glad you like the new NetSupport DNA, we wanted to do a fresh take on IT management and most products historically are quite "Grey" and don't seem to make much effort on how they present themselves, NetSupport DNA is very different. ( then again it has taken us just over 4 years to create so it should look half decent or we would be in trouble )

 

As for BYOD, i wouldn't want to mislead you and suggest we offer a specific BYOD solution, as we don't, but with our classroom management we do include Student software for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS, Kindle Fire and Chrome and we have the Teacher software for Windows, Mac, Linux, Chrome and Android.... so you can do quite a bit of management and monitoring across all devices, but not explicitly BYOD policy bits. Keeping apps persistent on Tablets is a pain, but Android has more flexibility and our Student app can be set to be running all the time from startup. On iOS as an Enterprise app we have bit more flexibility but its not even close to a desktop level of overview.

 

The new NetSupport DNA has an additional inventory agent for iOS, Android, Mac, Linux etc as well so you can get a full view of your school assets (Desktop and Mobiles / Tablets) too.

 

Hope that clarifies and sorry we don't have something specifically for MDM.

Love netsupport. I've submitted my fair share of bugs over the years, and they've been resolved relatively quickly! Just wondering how the new bug I submitted will be fixed. lol
