timbo343 Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Our media dept are after a few video cameras to replace the aging and partially broken ones. Like every dept in school they have very little money to spend but yet they are wanting something that will give a good picture and has a decent mic. I have had a quick scout on amazon which are showing the cheap cameras less than £80 then the price jumps up to £120. I asked the media dept what format they need to record in, they said anything that imports into the video editing software (power director 13). We ask students to convert all videos to MP4 using Any Video Converter so i guess format isn't really an issue. They need to be able to attach to a tripod (which most of the do now a days). We are open to buying second hand cameras so long as the audio and video are a good quality. The camera needs to have optical zoom too. Can anyone recommend a cheap but decent video camera please based on the above. Thanks
mikkydoos Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 I always liked the Sonys,. Not sure they'd be in your price range tho'
timbo343 Posted November 17, 2015 Author Posted November 17, 2015 Thanks, i might have found one, its the Canon R506. I did look at the Panasonic SC80 which would have been one i recommended, the zoom was immense, but it recorded in Panasonics version of HD instead of MP4.
NokiX Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Could you drop me the URL, we are also looking to replace our video camera's (as well as our still camera's at some point as well) since they have not been updated in around 5 years so are performing poorly.
