Enable Mic Boost

Hi Everyone

 

I am looking to enable the MicBoost on all PCs in a ICT Suite, but it keeps randomly becoming disabled.

 

I know I can do it using a registry entry or via the control panel, but with the Registry it requires a reboot.

 

Has anyone managed to enable MicBoost via a script?

 

I use NirCmd to max the volume levels, but this doesnt support enabling the MicBoost.

What about still using the registry method and restarting the audio service after it is done? It should pick up the changes without a reboot.

Thanks for the reply, but pupils do not have access to restart services

What method are you using to do this remotely? A startup script runs with local machine credentials and will be able to do what you need it to do. Is the registry setting for mic boost in the Current User or Local Machine hive?

For the machine would be good, but there seems no pattern as I can set it for an Admin but then its not set for a user

 

I will try the reg trick next week.
