ID Card Number

We use ID cards to access doors at my college and we recently purchased a printer that allows us to scan an ID card to enable a user to use it. When we scan the card on the printer we get a 10 digit number but we cannot figure out what this translates to. We would like to import a database into the printer so each user doesn't have to scan their card and manually enter a login and password but we need to know how to interpret the 10 digit number for each ID card. Our current ID's are a Motorola 26-Bit Flex Pass that come with a 5-digit number pre-printed on the back. The 10-digit number we get from the printer for the card unfortunately has no commonality with the 5-digit number. Does anyone have any idea of what the 10-digit number might be and how I can figure it out for each card? Thanks!

When we were checking our proximity card printer was coding the cards correctly we scanned a sample set of cards with the cursor focus on an open session of Notepad. The data that would have been passed to our cashless till was echoed as plain text in Notepad.

The number sent will typically be the uid of the card the unique id this may or may not relate to anything printed on the card so you would have to read them.

Thank you for the information! I figured that it was probably a unique ID that wouldn't translate to what was printed on the card but thought I would double check. Thanks!
