jmak Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Hi All We're having a demo from Lego Education later on today and I've been asked to get our Learnpads ready to use. I was expecting to put Lego StoryVisualizer on the Learnpads, but it seems it has been discontinued. I'm now looking at Lego Story Maker - is anyone using this or another Lego app with Android or Learnpad Tablets in a primary school setting? Our partner school is bringing iPads and I don't want to give any more reasons why we should have bought those rather than Learnpads! Thanks
pooley Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Having a quick look at this. There is an app StoryVisualizer but it's not in the Learnpad store to install from there. You could install in manually on the learnpads from google play and create a shortcut to it. Learnpad will try and add the app if they can but whether they can get it uploaded to their portal in time for your training I wouldn't know. Si 1
edutech4schools Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I use the Google App store for my LearnPad apps far more than the LearnPad store so if it's in Google Play store you should be good to go. You can mass deploy Google play apps using the LearnPad control centre. Not used any Lego apps on our tablets. 1
jmak Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 I got the idea it had been discontinued because when I was trying to get prepared at home I was trying to install it on my own android devices - all of which are 5.something and its not supported on that version. Also the salesman believed it to be discontinued. However the Learnpads are still on 4.something and I was then able to find the app in the store. Learnpad seem to have more or less stopped adding apps on request - I think it's mostly down to licencing rather than unwillingness. However it's quite easy to create a resource which is an app from the apk and it is then straightforward to roll out as normal. NB there's nothing illicit about rolling apps out this way but you do need to comply with copyright!
