EduTech Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I can't give you the full context right now, but I'll be sure to post up the finished goods... currently in the process of creating some Infographics around particular roles in education (Student, Teacher, Head Teacher etc.) to which one is based around the day to day job of an IT Network Manager (or equivalent) in a School... I thought it would be awesome if you guys were able to post up some things that you do in your normal Working day so that the Infographic actually has a sense of reality about it (and isn't just something put together by someone whom probably has no idea what it is you guys do day to day) :-) Think of things around Modern IT Infrastructure Enterprise Mobility Cloud Services Security Devices Support Incidents Budget / Projects etc. You can also look at mentioning some of the applications that you may use in those areas or even are looking to use in those areas. I appreciate your collective help, you can even make it humorous if you wish i.e. "Teachers whom do not know how to Lock the computer when leaving a classroom" or something :-) James.

Only general thing I can think of is asset management/calendar bookings, could go in to severe detail of all that list you currently got though. I was working on a mind map of what we currently are responsible for and do, it kind of grew too big the software it self couldn't handle it. Only reason I did it in mind mapping software is because it adds that "Fancy" look non IT people really like.

Have a peek at this from the archives of Becta. [ARCHIVED CONTENT] Becta Schools An additional or two to your list though (and now updated) ... User Education (with or without ClueBat!) Lunch (when not in front of a computer catching up on EG threads or dropping crumbs in the keyboard of the laptop you are fixing and then blaming the teacher for the state of it!) Wall demolishing (usually done after the user education session where your head is being applied with force to a wall in frustration) Wall Demolishing (done as *part* of the user education session where the user's head is being applied with force to a wall in retribution!)
