Michael Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Hello all, Does anyone have a RISO 7150 Photocopier (latest driver) labelled cd206h.zip working with Windows 10? It seems extremely temperamental, but otherwise is working on Windows 7. Many thanks!
Smed Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 We have one here, had problems with teachers who had upgraded to windows 10 (even after i told them not too!) with print jobs getting stuck at "spooling" but ive done a clean install of win10 on one laptop for testing, and ive not come accross any problems myself...

Yep - I had these exact problems too, but installing the latest driver has fixed most issues. In some cases the printer doesn't appear for some users, it's just really odd. There's also a Ricoh on the same network that works with no issues. Did you or have you had an engineer apply any firmware upgrades on the photocopier?
Smed Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 we had an engineer out a couple of weeks ago to apply a modification (small steel washer!) to the paper trays, he gave it a good overall so he could of upgraded the firmware ,although he never said anything... just checked now and the firmware is 9.54.0 1
Michael Posted November 2, 2015 Author Posted November 2, 2015 That's good to know, I've just checked and it's running 9.11.00. Another is running 9.54.00, so it could simply be this that's the root of the problem.
Michael Posted November 12, 2015 Author Posted November 12, 2015 Finally it looks like RISO have released Windows 10 drivers. Will be trying these today, so thought I'd share. Downloadable here Weirdly the driver date is late September 2015, so why has it taken this long to publish it on their website? It still doesn't appear on RISO.co.uk. 1
Michael Posted November 12, 2015 Author Posted November 12, 2015 I wish they'd do Mac drivers! I had noticed this too and have mentioned it to the numerous 'powers' who run these devices. I spoke with a leasing company who supply/support these devices and even they admitted RISO were behind compared to other leading companies when it came to drivers. It's a real shame as the RISO 7150 is a nice/fast machine.
Michael Posted November 12, 2015 Author Posted November 12, 2015 On a related note, does anyone know of a tool or a command I can run, to reset the Windows 10 spooler to defaults? In other words to delete all third party drivers, so it's forced to pull down drivers 'as new'? I can't seem to find anything that will do it!
Michael Posted November 19, 2015 Author Posted November 19, 2015 The new drivers don't appear to make any difference, plus they're literally only for Windows 10 and not Windows Server which is just really odd! As time goes on, I've managed to test another setup with a RISO 7150, the 3.1.2.0 driver (server and client) and the 9.54 firmware and it appears (on the surface) to work absolutely fine!

I haven't tried this method on Windows 10, but it works great on 7. Delete the registry key for the offending print driver and restart the print spool service. Windows will remove all printers using said driver and when you reinstall it will overwrite the remnants of the old driver. Michael Posted December 11, 2015 Author Posted December 11, 2015 After communicating with the leasing company, they agreed with me that RISO's support was somewhat lacking. At the current time, you have to use one driver for Windows Server and older Windows versions (7 or later), but a separate driver specifically for Windows 10 - version 3.4.0.0. The firmware on the photocopier was updated to version 9.65 and all is well. Sometime next year, a proper combined driver will be released. Question is, why didn't RISO do this in the first place?? I also managed to find a way of properly deleting printers on Windows 10. Using con2prt.exe works and deletes all network printers as required.

It looks like the combined driver has been released now in that link you posted earlier in the thread. cd_208h is version 3.05.00. Where did you go for the firmware download? Pain in the arse constantly clearing documents that are stuck spooling, hope this fixes it! Edited February 1, 2016 by JamieRushworth

Thanks for the heads up - your leasing company will supply/install your firmware, it isn't publically available.
Michael Posted February 1, 2016 Author Posted February 1, 2016 Are you sure it's been updated? The combined driver only goes up to Windows 8.1 with a separate Windows 10 download at the bottom. It's no different from before.

I haven't had a chance to actually install it yet, but this is what I see on the site: Third one up says Win10/Win8.1 etc etc. Inside version.txt it says "CD208h 06,Jan.,2016" too.
