faza Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Hi, We have a Exchange 2003 server and every now and then it crashes and you have to wait for approx 5 minutes until the focus returns. It is like something is happening on the server and you cant use Outlook or OWA until the process has finished. What exactly happens is that the Outlook icon in the system tray gets a red exclamation mark and it says Outlook is trying to retrieve data.... I have checked the server and the event log and it suggests that every 5-10 it is trying to connect to a user which has had its account and mailbox disabled. Is there anything we can do to remove the user from the list apart from deleting as i believe you are supposed to retain the records for some time after the user has left incase of any evidence and so forth. Or has anybody got any ideas what it could be? Faza
HodgeHi Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I don't run exchange as you know but maybe this might be of use.. http://searchexchange.techtarget.com/expert/KnowledgebaseAnswer/0,289625,sid43_gci947676,00.html You also backup the mail store? If so should that be Ok for the Mail backup archive that you seek. I don't know how exchange holds its DB Is it brows-able or extractable by admins or do you have to restore?
