LGFL.Office365 not working on port 587

Hi

 

Are there any LGFL school's/academy's who have successful migrated to office365 using port 587, LGFL won't open port 25 for obvious reasons. We've been told by LGFL that other schools got 0365 to work on port 587. I did asked & no LGFL havent share that information on the other schools who supposedly got this working.

 

on port 587, no connection can be made, unless we use smtp.office365.com as the smarthost. This doesn’t work however, as no authentication can be made

 

Any pointers, help would be appreciated.

Hi,

 

We are on LGfL with Office 365. You still need to do a firewall request for port 587 to be opened as it isn't by default. We haven't done it as are still using the LGfL relay for outgoing but may need to soon.

 

BTW, have you migrated everyone over to 365? How have you found the process? Are you using the USO authentication or your own DirSync?

Yes thanks, we done a MIP request to LGFL for port 587 to be open from our exchange server. We are also using dirsync on installed on one of our app servers. The assumption is... if 0365 send/receiving mail works on (port 25 testing only) ..then it should work on 587.
