MatthewL Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 When I press save or CTRL+S I get no prompt to name my file it just saves it to C:\Users\%username%\Document as Book1.xlsx. Any idea how I can stop this and get a prompt box back, I have checked everything I can think of and Google is no help. My only thoughts are the template file it uses to create documents as I know deleting that used to solve issues back in the day. Cheers
spadam Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Is your template actually a template (.xltx) or just a regular workbook (.xlsx)? If its the latter that'll be it I reckon.
MatthewL Posted October 20, 2015 Author Posted October 20, 2015 Is there a default template used in Excel 2010 like Words normal.dotm? If I do file save as I get a prompt but not when I press CTRL+S.
themightymrp Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 You may have some kind of macro loading up by default. Try opening excel in safe mode (start --> run --> Excel /safe) and see if the problem goes away. If it does, something is loading, either an add-in or macro
MatthewL Posted October 20, 2015 Author Posted October 20, 2015 Safe mode still did it. It turns out its the Google Drive add in!! - - - Updated - - - Well DriveforOffice COM add in.
