Legacy Domain Emails Sent To Gmail Accounts

Hi,

When we signed up to Apps for Education we started with a new domain. Any emails to our legacy domain, which come through our Exchange Server, are redirected by the server to the new Google accounts. We now need to remove the old Exchange server (it's way past its 'use by' date) but users need to receive any emails that may still be sent to their legacy domain account. If I set up a Domain Alias for the legacy domain will users be able to see emails sent to the legacy domain? There is no need for any send facility. Only staff, not students, are effected by this issue.

 

Any help or pointers will be much appreciated

You'd need to redirect the MX records for the old domain too, as they'd still be pointing at the old server address
