Remove or configure power button from start and ease of access from login

Has anyone know how to remove the power button from windows10 start menu? I don't want students shutting their machines down so maybe I can make this button just have a 'sign out' option?

 

I've tried the win8 reg key that's well documented:

Launcher_ShowPowerButtonOnStartScreen

 

But it doesn't seem to work.

 

How about the 'ease of access' button at the login screen. This could cause a whole load of support calls with machines in high contrast, magnifier etc. It needs to be available somehow but not there.

Hi, did you manage to solve the ease of access issue? Wanting the ease of access button gone from the login screen...

I know of the group policy which allows you to change what it says as a default. If you go to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar there should be a GPO called "Change Start Menu power button" just enable it and chose the option you wish to show up instead.

Managed to get the ease of access button deactivated (Windows 10 x64).

Computer Configuration > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > File System

 

Added these two:

 

%SystemRoot%\System32\sethc.exe

%SystemRoot%\System32\Utilman.exe

 

Propagate inheritable permissions to all subfolders and files > Deny access for all users

 

Same deny permissions for each one.

 

 

Now when clicking the ease of access button on the login screen (bottom right hand corner) it does nothing.
