blu4 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Hello team, I'm deploying Windows 8.1 machines to our domain however, some of them get stuck on the "please wait" screen before logging on. This is completely random and it doesn't affect a specific machine. After doing a restart or two they start working. I heard that this is linked to some background windows update processing? This is driving me nuts.. Please halp!
SteveM555 Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 We've had this before where deployed software or scripts from Group Policy are somehow failing and hanging on 'Please Wait'. After re-doing our GPOs we haven't had an issue since.
blu4 Posted October 8, 2015 Author Posted October 8, 2015 We do have a script in place. I'll disable that and see if this help. Thanks for the answer!
linkazoid Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Try enabling Verbose mode - Group Policy Verbose Mode: The One Group Policy Setting That You Need to Enable - DeployHappiness This removes the ambiguous please wait and shows what the computer is actually trying to process.
