Hi

I'm really stuck with this one.....I know this is like trying to find a needle in a haystack :(

We have a situation here where some pupils can't open IE. It just does nothing when you click on it.

If you move next door to another pc with the same user they can open it fine.

If you clear the local profiles from the pc and try it works.

The trouble is IE is quite locked down in a school so you can't easily get inside it to see what is going on.

We have a generic profile that is non writeable - applied to all the pupils. It doesn't save desktop when the log off.

I have seen this issue around the school before.....in the past - all we did was clear local profiles off.

When I move the pupil out of the GPO IE starts ok - so it's probably something inside Group Policy....but it's a minefield trying to go through every setting. It could be anything!

I am working my way through IE group policy settings but chances are it's not even that.

I don't know how to trouble shoot this one. Can anyone suggest where I might look? It's a tough one....I know.

Thanks.

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Just want to add ( not that his helps) when you 'Run as Administrator' logged in as these users IE starts .....

I can't understand why the problem isn't consistent for the same user on different ( but identical) pcs.
