Suggested replacement for Buffalo WHR-HP-GN access points?

Hi

 

For the past 5 years I've run my own self managed wireless network starting with the old Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 flashed to DD-WRT before upgrading them a couple of years ago to the faster WHR-HP-GN.

 

Just starting to think about upgrading the access points again (although no real performance issues with the current kit), what would people recommend as a decent wifi access point these days? Ideally it would need to run DD-WRT firmware but I'm not tied to any specific manufacturer etc. I've got about 50 to potentially replace...

Unifi. Best thing we ever did was get rid of the mish-mash of cacky Bufallo points with our Unifi system. Cheap and FAR superior.

If you want cheap and cheerful and don't need some of the enterprise level stuff, the Unifi AP Standards will do you well. The UAP Pro's are a fair bit more expensive but still 1/3-1/4 the price of any fully managed system. Take a look on their site and see what suits, you may wish to go for their new UAP-AC range to futureproof yourself a little.
