[sims] Cover 7 - No registration period

Hi

 

 

Has anyone experienced difficulties with registration periods not appearing in Cover 7. The periods are set up correctly in NOVA etc. but since I have performed an update in the day structure (adding in period 7) it is not showing as a lesson requiring cover. I have sent across the updated timetable cycle.

 

Any suggestion gratefully received.

I'm by no means an expert myself in Nova/Cover but these would be the first things I'd check/do

 

In Nova:

 

Tools | Define Period Times - just to ensure the registration period is still showing correctly.

 

I'm guessing within the Cycle screen you've already set registration with the Period Type of 'Reg'.

 

After exporting the timetable to SQL I'd then choose to Apply the Timetable. So, within SIMS go to Tools | Academic Management | Apply Timetable

 

Be careful here, a warning message appears advising that Cover assignments and Lesson Marks will be lost if the timings of periods have changed. Definitely a good idea to have a SQL backup ready just in case.

 

Another place in SIMS to check would be under Tools | Setups | Lesson Monitor Options | Lesson Monitor Setups - make sure all's looking as expected - this shouldn't really have a bearing on why the period isn't showing in Cover though.

Thanks for your suggestions - sadly have tried these. Think we will need to raise a ticket with Capita as completely out of solutions!
