Programming VM Host

We currently have a setup of 2 VMs that are deployed through SCCM to local machines. After creating new VMs I've encountered many issues that I'm wondering if there is a better way of providing a safe environment for programming.

 

I've seen people talk about hosting the VMS and RDPing onto it. How can this be done a)cheaply (read: free) and b) provide each user a seperate environment? Our VMWare servers have recently had an upgrade so we should be able to handle multiple VMs running at the same time depending on network requirements.

Yes, same here. I used that exact thread to set it up. I'm just looking at alternatives and improvements and I've not seen any details on RDPing to a host of VMs.

We've set up scvmm to do something similar. Not used it in anger yet but gives users a pool of resources with a self service front end
