  1. 1. How far have you got with IPv6 support on your network?

    • I've not even thought about it
    • All my new kit supports IPv6, but not set up yet
    • My Internet border (proxy servers, etc.) has IPv6
      0
    • My whole network is IPv6 enabled already

beware of and Fortinet using a C, B or A series chip set. To allow the use of IPv6 all processing of packets is done in software and on the normal chipsets (not ASIC drive). This will affect the performance of UTM functionality in particular. D series Fortigate firewalls are ok as IPv6 acceleration is supported in the latest ASIC chipset.

Thanks

Dave

We don't use Fortigate :) Thanks anyway :)

We're fully IPv6 here and have been since around 2010/11. It so much better than IPv4 and allows us to do cool things with offsite backup and internal IPsec encryption. Not having NAT is fabulous. The sooner IPv4 dies the better!
