Permissions error when trying to generate letters

One of our staff is getting and error when she tries to generate letters from sims. Saying: Access to the path 'Y:\SIMS\attend\letters\temp\unexplained absences.doc' is denied. I've checked that she has the correct permissions on the sims drive and tried her on another computer where she got the same issue. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated as I'm rather new to sims errors

You stupidly need to get office staff (or anyone who runs the attendance letters) FULL CONTROL over the attend folder - 'Y:\SIMS\attend'

 

The routine is some legacy code they glued into SIMS .net from the days of Windows 98. When is a SIMS report not a sims report? When its an attendance letter... or a built in report (they all use different methods for creating reports)
