Annotate over Google Docs using iPad - is this possible?

Ive had a look at iAnnotate and its not possible to use it with Google Docs on iPad unless you're simply downloading a Word or Powerpoint to annotate. It wont work over Google Docs and Google Sheets. Our school wish to annotate using iPad and we're using Google Docs - every child has an account. Is this possible?
