caffrey Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Mobile phones and iPads could be banned from classrooms - Telegraph It's only an inquiry but still
LosOjos Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 Schools already have the power to do this if they so wish to do so... am I missing something?
CyberNerd Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 .. and computers? or just computers that can make calls? or ones with microphones, or a text app?
Arthur Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 While smartphones and tablet computers can be useful in some lessons, Mr Bennett will investigate teachers’ concerns that growing numbers of pupils are distracted by their mobile devices when they should be concentrating on their work. ^ This makes it sound like personal devices rather than school-owned?
CyberNerd Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 ^ This makes it sound like personal devices rather than school-owned? classic case of "blame the technology" rather than "blame the behaviour". Only the worst teachers do this.
Grey-gear Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 I have to agree with the ban on phones in the lessons (which I know is nearly impossible to enforce with out searching the student themselves, which no school would have time for). iPads I think as long as they are used for lessons they should be fine.
