Screen dimming at logon?

Hi there, first post so apologies if this is in the wrong place or has already been asked. (Search didn't pull anything).

 

A lot of the users on the network here are getting dark screens when they log on. The logon screen is fine and logging off and back on again solves the problem. This happens to random users, with no patterns to hardware, time, user name...

 

So far the "log off and log back on" solution is working, but we're a little baffled as to why this is happening. Anyone suggest anything we'd be grateful!

Is this on laptops or desktops? Also is this restricted to a particular make and model of PC\laptop?

Is this on an RM CC4 network by any chance? We have the same issue on ours, as you say the only fix seems to be log out and back in again. The closest we've got to narrowing down to what's causing it is that we know it's RM Tutor somehow!

Hi there,

 

Only on desktops at present - the only laptops in use are by staff who would logoff and logon again without telling us.

 

Hardware is varied, A mix of old RM machines and we're now running Zoostorms. Again, happening across all devices with no discernible patterns.

 

We've just come out of CC4 - now running Vanilla 7 using System Centre 2012....

Thanks for the link, interesting reading. I'm not sure if it's something we've tried or not but I'll pass it on to my colleagues and ask.
