Sysvol errors on Infrastructure Status

I'm running 4 DCs, 2 are 2008 R2 and the other 2 are Server 2012. Everything seems to be working ok as far as replication goes (I can edit GPOs and AD on any DC and see the changes soon after on the others)

 

However, when I check the replication status on the 2012 Server using the Infrastructure Status part of the Group Policy Management Console I see both of the 2008 servers are 'Inaccessible' due to sysvol errors. The exact error is:

 

"active directory or sysvol is inaccessible on this domain controller or an object is missing"

 

Now I can browse all of the sysvols from the 2012 server, and vice versa and replication seems to be OK. If I run the old dcdiag on the 2008 servers I don't see any replication errors.

 

If I run gpotool on a WIndows 7 PC I see most of the gpo's have errors - when I check they are all replicating OK but the timestamps are a few seconds out of synch which is causing the errors.

 

Question is, is this normal behaviour for a mixed 2008/2012 server environment (2008 R2 Forest level) or is something odd happening with group policy replication? If I create a new GPO its visible on all the dcs in seconds, which suggests replication is actually working ok!

Maybe I'm the only one with this 'issue' but I installed RSAT on Windows 10, and the Status shows OK on there.

 

Bizarre, but maybe it is just a perculiarity with a mixed 2008/2012 domain with Windows 7 clients!
