tj2419 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Hi Wonder if anyone can help. We recently changed our website domain host. We have new external ip's for our website and VLE. This is working fine outside school. Can ping the url and I get the correct ip and the site works. Inside my school network I ping the ip and get the old ip and the site doesn't work. I'm guessing I need to refresh something but not sure what. We are win server 2012. Any ideas would be great thanks.
MatthewL Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Do you have a local DNS zone for your domain? If so the entries may need changing in there.
tj2419 Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 Just checked and there isn't. I have restarted the servers and client and still no luck.
MagicMalc Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 If you nslookup the site you should see what is resolving the IP address. I would think it is internal DNS also.

Hi when running an nslookup it has returned the server name and address for one of my dc's. Now I know where it is coming from how do I change it or refresh it? Thanks
tj2419 Posted September 3, 2015 Author Posted September 3, 2015 Just to add it goes to the new IP on my phone but on my wireless at home still goes to the old IP :s
MagicMalc Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 Yes, the domain controller will have the DNS role. If you remote onto the domain controller and access admin tools I would suspect you will find DNS in there.
