Bulk Import – 2.3.33.0

Hello. Thank you for creating this tool. We have installed this onto my SIMS client and are attempting to import the students email address.

We are getting the status ‘Not Found’ however we are matching Surname, Firstname, Year, Admission Number, Email.

Set using the Default button : Email main & email primary are set to Yes; Email location is work

The ability to choose a column for gender is greyed out.

We cannot select an xls fle to import, the bulk import tool “abends”, however we can select the field mentioned above fmo a csv.

 

We are running Sims Client 7.164 Build 21

I am running .Net Framework 4.5.2 (4.5.51209)

Try just surname, forename and year or just admission number. Tip with the admission number, check if it drops the leading 00's.

 

So CSV works ok, but Excel doesn't? What version of Office do you have - I think you need Office 2010 or higher. I'll have to check.

Hi Matt,

We are using Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 Version 14.0.7153.5000 (32-bit)

I have used a formula to keep the two leading zeros.

I will try the import using the field suggested and will update you.

Yes selecting less fields to match allowed the import to run.

Hi

I am experiencing similar problems with this tool. It only works from CSV source file no matter how many or few fields i pick it wont update the record. have checked for leading zeros.

 

In the log file it reports that the record was not updated, it shows the pupil names and PERSON ID but admission number is blank.

 

using version Sims Client 7.166 Build 38

Hi Matt here is the result of the import.

the import file only has Adno, forename, surname, dob, gender, UDF value

Is this a true/false UDF?

Ah Richard @ SalamanderSoft already submitted a fix for that. I'll PM you over a newer version with the fix. I've still not finished the next release due to lack of time.

Hi

That would be great , although the main reason i downloaded software was to update a UDF which is a lookup type , but I If i select that type from the dropdown list it does not bring up a list of fields in the UDF selection.

 

I am thinking that i might just abandon the lookup type and create another UDF text field given that i am only ever going to update it using this tool i dont need to worry about keying in accuracy. Thanks for creating such a useful bit of software.
