Steve21 Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 Good Morning All, Anyone found this error before? Just installing a new user and got this error on their machine. Many thanks, Steve
dapaulio Posted August 24, 2015 Posted August 24, 2015 This may not be any help in your case what so ever but I have found FMS generates all sorts of weird and wonderful errors that seem to fixed simply by changing the default printer and then changing it back again. I assume it has something to do with reporting and PCL 6 drivers. Very rarely do we experience FMS errors but when I do this fixes it everytime. Worth a try 1
Steve21 Posted August 25, 2015 Author Posted August 25, 2015 Aye checked that but seems it wasn't that this time. Turns out it's a retarded thing that FMS pulls certain files from SIMS.Net and unless they've used SIMS since the upgrade it'll whine as the files aren't the same version as FMS Stupid stupid errors. Thanks, Steve
matt40k Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 Turns out it's a retarded thing that FMS pulls certain files from SIMS.Net It stupidly uses them to sync your personnel records from SIMS so your Finance system has a commitment so you don't accidently spend your staff wages. Wouldn't be an issue if you had SOLUS3 either.

If it's a requirement for FMS surely the updater should update it? Aye Solus3 on the plans for next budget year as the server needs rebuilding Steve
matt40k Posted August 25, 2015 Posted August 25, 2015 SIMS and FMS are two completely separate independent applications, if Capita include built in support for SIMS, they'd be forced to include other providers support as they'll have a monopoly. Plus, can you imagine if your FMS broke because some obscure MIS provider wrote a duff library which they had to include - or how funny it'll be where every other MIS integration worked, but the SIMS one?
