Hi all,

Ok I currentley have a Active Directory Server set up running Windows Server 2012r2 and DNS.

I have also got in School a Apple IMac that we use for setting up Ipads ect which is just used for that and would like to set up as a Apple Server.

The IMac is running Yosemite.

Ok here is what I Have,

Windows Server 2012r2 Runnig Active Directory

Apple I Mac Running Yosemite

9 Apple MacBook Air's Joind to the Windows Active Directory for nothing other then Network Usernames and Passwords and shares.

Setting up Apple server is not a problem Download Server run setup

My Question is how do I set up Open Directory to work with my Active Directory, checked loads of vids / websites but none mention adding with Active Directory.

Do I Setup Open Directory as a Master, then join it to my windows domain like a client?

Any help/how to's or a point in the right direction would be great.

Cheers

Mark.

Having recently done this myself - the only thing I use open directory for is profile manager. I joined the mac server to AD, then set up profile manager (which set up OD as a prerequisite) to push out config profiles to the mac clients.

I bind the mac clients straight to AD rather than doing the old magic (/golden) triangle method of binding the macs to both AD and OD.
