spmartin27 Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Hi we are currently having Moodle installed but someone else is hosting it for us, they have asked if the CNAMEs can be pointed to the two websites. any ideas how I can do this.
steveking Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 It's part of your DNS settings, so log in to whatever panel or config files you have for that. It'll probably be with whoever you bought your domain name from (or your lea)
kmount Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Can you elaborate a bit more on what exactly they're asking for. If they're asking you to point moodle.blah.com using CNAME to something like web1.company,com AND web2.company.com then no, that's against the RFC and bad things will happen if you hijack this into working. Hopefully that's not what they're asking
mrverrall Posted August 26, 2015 Posted August 26, 2015 that's against the RFC ... [citation needed] Specifically, https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1034#section-3.6.2 and clarification at https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1912#section-2.4
