Arthur Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Website / Download (Windows: 32-bit, 64-bit / OS X: 64-bit) Today The Document Foundation (TDF) has released another solid, more stable and better version over the previous version, LibreOffice 5.0. There are improvements and also it's first time LibreOffice is for Windows 64-bit system. LibreOffice 5.0 is considered as the joint between the last versions and the future versions. So something is starting right from here for the mobile and cloud-based services. What Is New In LibreOffice 5.0? The release is more solid making several improvements in Spreadsheets and it brings many new features, Complex formulae, image cropping, new functions, more powerful conditional formatting, table addressing and much more. Fixing previous bug fixes make LibreOffice 5.0 working in most conditions in enterprise. Other than new features & functions in Spreadsheet, LibreOffice comes with new set of icons and improvements to menu and sidebar. Here is what the release note says about the menu improvements - "....no other LibreOffice version has looked that good and helped you be creative and get things done the right way." Now the support for Microsoft Office documents, PDF, RTF is a lot better. Personally to me this new release is having more stability than new features. No doubt this release is stable and make creating/editing documents easily and bug less. For LibreOffice this is simply a start toward cloud computing as TDF has already planned to build cloud based LibreOffice. Read more about that here. (Source)
