Restricting Java with a RuleSet

I was wondering how many people are using a RuleSet? I plan on implementing one in the fall.

Does the ruleset restrict local java applets? My kids love bring in minecraft on an key and installing it.

I think its just to lockdown web hosted applets. In your ruleset you define http://javapp.mydomain.com use java 6 etc. Depends if minecraft is in the browser.

I am pretty sure they copy students have is not in the browser. Any ideas for blocking those besides uninstalling Java?
