THE OPERATIONS TEAM The Operations team currently consists of a Team Lead, an Operations Coordinator and two technical supports We get a kick out of interacting with and delighting our customers We react efficiently to support our schools Student success is of the utmost importance: we are determined to support our schools and to support the rest of the business in ensuring students succeed We believe in supporting each other as a team and delivering as a team OUR WORK IN THE COMING YEAR... Improving the efficiency of current operational processes including IT set-up of schools, in-session support and reporting for the business Managing the smooth running of over 2,000 sessions each week Developing relationships with school network providers- these relationships will be essential in rolling out our new online classroom smoothly (this will be a key part of your role) THE ROLE In order to deliver one-to-one maths tutoring we have a platform that allows for pupils in the UK to connect with our tutors across the world. However, when setting up the system in schools we have been facing challenges in terms of firewalls, blocked URLs and ports. A key responsibility of yours will be to establish and maintain strong relationships with network providers in order to ensure schools don’t face technical problems. More broadly your role will include the following: Identifying the relevant network providers and/or local authorities, and establishing strong relationships with them Maintaining these relationships in order to always be updated on any network change that might influence the smooth delivery of our service. That way we can always be ahead of the game by preventing problems from happening rather than firefighting them Supporting the roll-out of our new online classroom from a networks point of view by ensuring network providers are ready to make the necessary changes to school networks Designing a more efficient process for schools’ technical set-up Training our two technical supports with your knowledge of networks Developing a process for remotely diagnosing IT problems in schools that can be used by the team When needed, working alongside the two technical supports to complete school IT set-up Working with the product team to maintain office technical infrastructure and security WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR We’re looking for someone who has two passions: technology and meeting people. You will enjoy and be energised by meeting different people and by establishing and maintaining business relationships. At the same time, you’ll be an IT specialist and crazy about technology. In order to perform in this role it’s important to be proactive in identifying potential future problems and working to prevent them from occurring. As we’re a start-up we sometimes have to help out when necessary so we’re looking for someone who will be happy to support schools in the set-up phase or with any technical problems when necessary. REQUIREMENTS Good understanding of network infrastructure and of how to diagnose connection problems Ability to use standard network tools (both as software and hardware) - e.g. sniffers, firewalls, routers, switches Between 3 and 5 years working in IT Excellent customer service and communication skills Literacy in both Linux and Windows Willingness to complete a DBS check IT WOULD BE GREAT IF You’ve worked in a school environment previously and/or in a school network provider You understand the different types of school network utilities, such as RM's Cloud Community Connect 4 WHAT WE OFFER Work with a fun and curious bunch of young people Opportunity to work in one of the fastest growing EdTech social enterprises in London The chance to channel your customer service skills and tech knowledge into positive social impact Opportunity to be part of a committed and supportive team, delivering great customer service 25 days holiday Salary band: £23,000 to £33,000 depending on experience Our offices are in a school academy There is access to a rooftop football pitch, a football table for breaks and there are a couple of gyms in the area!
