We currently have all our staff email in O365 and mail filtering is routed through Fusemail. We are planning to move students over to 365 mail this summer, but we can't afford Fusemail for student accounts so we are considering moving everything over to Exchange Online Protection.

Can anyone who is currently using EOP with 365 offer an opinion as to whether it is any good? My manager is nervous about moving away from Fusemail but is resigned to the fact we might not have a choice.

What do you currently do in fuse mail that you'd want to do in EOP?

Maybe I'll be able to tell you if it's possible then.

We just use the spam, virus and malware filtering feature of the product. We have it set to send users an emailed list of blocked messages every few hours with the option to release them. I believe EOP can do the same thing but I think the boss is worried the product will be terrible at it and let all sorts through!

I've not had a single piece of malware or a virus directly attached in 2 years. We do get a little bit of spam, but maybe 1 or 2 pieces hitting the inbox power account every 6 months.

I have blocked all .exes and zips, they have to contact an admin to release them.

We do get a few emails with links to websites saying retrieve your scanned document etc, but these usually stop pretty quickly.

It's great for us. We used EOP to protect our onsite Zimbra and it worked reasonably well (didn't protect much against staff muppetry but that's not it's fault). We have gone fully 365 now and it works well enough to not warrant separate products.
