I have been getting more and more frustrated with this over the past few weeks - and I suspect I am missing something obvious

Anyway

I have a couple of LG L1730P monitors - some of which have been lying around my room since before I started but I cannot get them to connect reliably

The problem is that they will start off OK - green light comes on and the PC screen comes up on the monitor fine

THEN - after only 1 or so seconds the screen goes blank and I can't get anything on the screen at all - even if I press the menu and auto adjust settings buttons on the monitor

The user manual (yes - I even got desperate enough to read that!) says to reset to factory setting - but that is via the menu - which doesn't display when I press the button

I have tried pressing every button once, twice and for over 10 seconds - but no response. and all the tim ethe green light is on indicating that the signal is OK

I know the connection is fine as the PC screen is displayed properly at the start

Any ideas??

TIA

Mike

The screen is shutting down because it is detecting a fault. If you shine a bright light can you see a feint image ? Could be bad capacitors or aging ccfl tubes or their wiring.

Hum - you could be right - probably quite old monitors (I have only been here since Jan) so they could be end of life

No sure why they would show the image then switch off

Probably best just to skip them (in a responsible way of course) and replace them
