Joanne Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Hello! How do I create a load of e-mail addresses which will then forward e-mail to my work account? I'm creating a load of itunes accounts you see and it would be easier if all e-mail to these accounts got forwarded to mine. I'm using Office 365. Ta muchly.
RichCowell Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I'd do it with a Rule in Exchange Admin - Rules - Mail Flow, then create a rule that says if the recipient email address includes ipad (or whatever) forward to you... 1
Joanne Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Cool. I'm just creating them now so will check that out. Cheers.
RichCowell Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Not a problem... I've got rules set up for a few things in there, including my own custom esafety monitoring and spam filter :-p
Joanne Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) Argh I can't set up the e-mails because it doesn't like the dashes in the usernames.... my naming convention for the ipads are iPad1 and iPad2-1 and when I eventually get trolley 3 will be iPad3-1 etcs.... Might just have to go iPad1 - iPad72 :-/ edit: forgot to put the @school.com ON THE END OF USERNAME!! #EPICFAIL Edited July 9, 2015 by Joanne
Joanne Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Am I assuming my exchange admin is totally locked down by BT Lancs?
RichCowell Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 (edited) Am I assuming my exchange admin is totally locked down by BT Lancs? What a nightmare :-( that's one of the best and most basic features! I'm not on the Lancs system so not sure, but looks like it :-( Could be worth requesting access to Rules? Or telling them to create the rule for you if they won't? Edited July 9, 2015 by RichCowell
Joanne Posted July 9, 2015 Author Posted July 9, 2015 Yeah I've opened a call. They are normally pretty quick with stuff like this, so fingers crossed!! I've got 30 days to create all my apple IDs anyways
Edu-IT Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I just add in aliases of an email. So, our itdept@ email address will also have ipad@, ipad2@ etc as an alias.

Joanne Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 OK to create aliases I went to Exchange Admin - recipients - found my mailbox then double click and then e-mail addresses and added the aliases into there. Works a charm. Took a while to type all those e-mails in there though!! well... copy, paste, edit.

That's what we were advised to do, which is why we didn't do it with aliases... I'd have rather done it that way though!
Joanne Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 Yeah, so all the itunes e-mails I get will come through to my account... I'll have to create the itunes accounts on the ipads I think BLAG CITY!

RichCowell Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Yes. But you can still do that using aliases? I wasn't thinking straight!!
