Migration to Office 365 Mail

Hi

We currently have Exchange 2010 on site and I am wanting to move to Office 365.

 

I have registered with the trial and tested the features etc.

 

I didn't register the domain with Microsoft as I was told once I did mail wouldn't get delivered to our on-site server.

 

We will run in hybrid mode to migrate the mail boxes then do away with our exchange on premises.

 

First question:

 

Can I register the domain with Microsoft but not change the MX record? I presume then email will continue to work to on-premises fine.

 

Any help on this would be appreciated.

You presume right. You can register your domain with Mircosoft and not change the MX record and all mail will still go to your on-premises fine
