Mr_Jiminy Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Does anyone have an idea of how I can disable users forwarding emails to a personal account? Looked all over the tenant and can't quite find what I'm looking for. Also a myriad of different sites with PS scripts - however struggling to find anything that will disable this feature.
Steve21 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 You can do a rule to stop "auto" forwards to external people if that's what you mean, but don't think you can stop just any "manual" forward externally Steve
Michael Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I don't think you can, but I guess it should be established why they're doing it?
Mr_Jiminy Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 Hahahaha at 'no you pillock' - yeah that's the one, I've actually just put something like that in place, however I'm also reading it may not apply for kiosk access.
Mr_Jiminy Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 (edited) I don't think you can, but I guess it should be established why they're doing it? I think you're right, which frankly is a poor show it can't be disabled. The users have all signed an AUP policy document stipulating not to forward, however sheer ignorance can often play a part... Hence it should be controlled by ECP. Unless of course it takes a while for the setting to propagate. Edited July 1, 2015 by Mr_Jiminy
Steve21 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 That's only for forwarding though, as in by rule to set to forward. It won't stop a manual forward e.g. clicking forwarding and hitting send. Which is it you're after? Steve
Mr_Jiminy Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 I want to prevent a user for setting up a forwarding address
Steve21 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Ah can do that another way too Just removes the option from the settings (Will take few mins to apply): Steve 2

Marshall_IT Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 @Steve21 you're an absolute legend! Thanks for those 2 little things there. Saved me a massive headache trying to work them out myself. Also thank you to the OP for asking the question.
Mr_Jiminy Posted July 4, 2016 Author Posted July 4, 2016 Can this rule be set to allow forwarding of emails against specific accounts?
Steve21 Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Can this rule be set to allow forwarding of emails against specific accounts? Automated forwarding? Or manual? If you mean my first one you can just add an exclusion to the "who" if you mean the second one youd have to duplicate the default policy, allow forwarding in the second one and assign that policy to said users. Marshall_IT Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I have disabled auto-forwarding all all my accounts with a mail flow rule. By specific accounts i'm not sure if you mean internal accounts or external (destination). If you mean internal you could add an IF for either a specific person, group or domain. Block auto forward to external address If the message... Is sent to 'Outside the organization' and Is message type 'Auto-forward' Do the following... Delete the message without notifying the recipient or sender
