cpjitservices Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Hi all, I have a query: below is whats happening. One of our customers has a factory machine (some sort of drill, I dunno) it runs from a Windows XP embedded machine. We have just upgraded the server to server 2012 R2. The software on the XP Embedded machine points to a network share which is all well and good. The XP Machine wont connect to the network share, it doesnt keep the network credentials entered into XP, nothing in credential manager. I thought a way around it would be to use a start up script... but on reboot the script is removed as is any registry settings that I add regarding the network credentials. It almost like the machine starts form fresh upon reboot. Any Ideas ? Thanks in advance
cpjitservices Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 Dont think so there's nothing really on the machine except for the milling software... It logs on as A normal user and not an Administrator too, ive read the I may need to issue the ewfmgr C: -commit command but not sure this will run under a non admin account.

cpjitservices Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 Yes, files disappear. No its not up to date it cannot go beyond SP2 apparently due to the software being used.

cpjitservices Posted June 30, 2015 Author Posted June 30, 2015 Not sure whats in program files at the moment, the machine is out of town and obviously i cant get into it remotely. Ill take a look next time and report back.
Steve21 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Obviously depends how it's setup etc, but if it's domain based machine can't you deploy the mapping through GPO etc? Then even if it's getting wiped would come back on during restart At least as a temp fix Steve

Ah that's a shame, aye really gonna need local access to have a look at it install wise. You wouldn't be able to add to domain if it's steadystate etc though as it's effectively wiping disk back to start, so would remove the domain join etc Steve 1
free780 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 It's a write cache feature built into embedded I think. You issue sound like something to do with ntlm/keroboas settings that are different. Really XP has had its day the software should be made to work on 7/8.1.

It certainly should be but these old machines (as in CNC milling) are old, 80's machines that need serial etc to work.
