cookie_monster Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me with this odd issue. I have a new TalkTalk DSL-378 router (crap one I know but that's what they sent). I installed it and configured the SSID and other settings and all is good, I can access the internet and a LAN webcam that I have. Now the problem part, every time I change the admin password I can no longer access the web admin interface, it doesn't even give me a pasword box it simply says unable to connect. I haven't changed the IP from 192.168.1.1 and the instructions state that I am allowed to change the password. I can't access the page from WiFi or a LAN cable, I've tried accessing it from my Addroid tablet and Windows 8.1 box with no luck, both worked before I changed the password, I've rebooted the router. Any suggestions? Thanks.
newpersn Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 We had same problems with the 2 port D link router. i started an online topic with them. (there phone customer service is s**t,) I asked to be sent a replacement router which has to be the 4 ports due to having more cable devices than wireless. Might we worth asking for the latest firmware to be sent to the box.
cookie_monster Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 OK. I have the 4 port version and its on I think Dec 2014 firmware. Is there a newer one. Thanks
newpersn Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 I'm on: Firmware Version : v1.12t Hardware version : B1 I think there a newer one than that. 1
cookie_monster Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 Can I just get that from Dlink or will I have to suffer TalkTalk support?
newpersn Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Talktalk. It's full of there crap. Or just buy a decent router.
cookie_monster Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 I'm actually otherwise happy with the router, its got a much better range than my Sky one had and I can stream Netflix etc.
newpersn Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I not had any problems with the sky hub or the sagemcom router. (I tricked the old sagemcom router to connect to the broadband to rule out any problems. The old talktalk router kept dropping connections and just unreliable. Got talktalk to swap me to the 3780) Start a post on talktalk forums and your get help from talktalk people (not people from telephone support)
cookie_monster Posted July 1, 2015 Author Posted July 1, 2015 I've started one, they'll get back to me apparently.
cookie_monster Posted July 10, 2015 Author Posted July 10, 2015 Looked this morning and port 80 is suddenly listening, it wasn't before so I think support must have done something. 1
