cpjitservices Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Good morning to all of you great folks! I have 2 phones a 7941 and a 7961... I have had them in a store room for a while and thought I'd give them a try on my 3CX system. Sitrep: the 7961, powers on, but has a blank screen after all the light sequences.... the 7941 boots up and is stuck on "upgrading". What I want to do is get these phones on the latest firmware - what files do I need and how do I get it onto the phones to be used with 3CX (Sip firmware?) I have tftpd32 setup as a tftp and a DHCP server. Neither phone seems to be picking up an IP. OR Should these phones be thrown in the bucket ? Thanks in advance.
FN-GM Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 I have seen this. It was because the jump between the firmwares was to big. I updated to an intermediate firmware first then the latest and it worked. This was all using SIP firmware, not sure about SCCP.

cpjitservices Posted June 26, 2015 Author Posted June 26, 2015 Well files are on my tftpd server, phone is plugged directly into laptop and has an IP. But phone is sitting there on the upgrading screen. I'm using tftpd32 as DHCP and TFTPD server....
FN-GM Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Are you updating using an older firmware? Inplug the phone. Plug it back in. Press and hold hash until the lights flash. Then press 123456789*0# and see if that sorts it. Thanks
