Smartcache - upstream proxy settings changed 24/6/15

Just publicising this because RM didn't bother.

 

If your smartcache is using unfiltered.proxy.rmplc.co.uk or adslcache.proxy.rmplc.co.uk you may have noticed that your connection is filtered (at the 'child' level) regardless of what sites you've unblocked on your smartcache (eg youtube).

 

To fix this, you need to change the upstream proxy on your smartcache to smartcache.proxy.rmplc.co.uk

 

This is done by changing your smartcache.xml file and rebooting the smartcache.

 

RM - try telling us about changes like this next time.

Hi, Just got off the phone with RM about this too and is not exclusive to Smartcache, it affects anything with a RM proxy, or a upstream proxy including our Smoothwall.

This was just identified as a possible workaround in the last hour so it may take RM a bit longer to get a notification out to everyone affected.
