khazelhu Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Hi, I'm upgrading computers from XP to 7 (long time coming I know!) and using Server 2012 for a domain controller. I cannot seem to find the setting in GPO that stops the single-click to open folders and desktop shortcuts, etc. I have tried toggling settings with Active Desktop and Classic Shell with no success! Can anyone point me in the right direction please? Thanks!

Firefox Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Ah Yes... Confirm the key HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer - ClassicShell doesn't exist. If it does delete it Manually set the "Single-Click to open an item (point to select) option in windows explorer. Then check the following key HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer Value Name: ShellState Type: REG_BINARY Confirm the Data for that value. Now go back and select "Double-Click to open an item (single click to select) Check the same key and the value should change? Create a GPP reg setting for this value and push it out to all devices.
