The Network Support department at Yavneh College supports approx. 1000 pupils and staff with all aspects of IT and the running of the network. The network is of a very high modern standard and at an enterprise level. We have a vanilla Windows Server 2008 R2 network with our own Exchange Server 2010, VMware vSphere (over 20 virtual servers), Citrix XenApp 6.5 running on HP blades, 2 x HP Left hand SANs Raid 5 & Network Raid 10, 3 x HP VMware ESX host servers and as a DR solution we have Veeam backup and replication.

 

We have around 500 workstations including laptops and PCs running Windows

7, thin clients for Citrix along with two suites of Apple iMacs. The network

technician’s role is varied and interesting and you will be expected to be flexible

with regard to working extra hours where/ when required. You will be required

to do some routine type work and to assist pupils and staff as required with

applications and hardware including some movement of bookable resources from

location to location within the college.

 

In return you will have the chance to experience virtualisation at a high level if you are able to show commitment and aptitude. You will have the chance to develop resources within the college environment and gain exposure to up to date technologies and practices.
