Koldov Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 (edited) Hi All, Got a worrying amount of entries in my server's Device Manager... Hardware ID is this: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0EB7&SUBSYS_00008086&REV_04 Which Google tells me is: Intel® Xeon® E5 v2/Core i7 Integrated Memory Controller Little bit surprised this isn't built into the Server 2012R2 operating system! Can anyone please tell me if this is something I should worry about and if so point me in the direction of the correct driver? Kol. Edited June 12, 2015 by Koldov
Chuckster Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Presumably this is a HP server? If so, you should use the HP management thingymajig (sorry, don't know the correct name) to do your Windows OS installation. Prior to the OS installation the HP software will download and install all the necessary drivers for you.
SHimmer45 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 what server is it? you might need to try the vendors site for drivers and see if they have 2012R2 support
Koldov Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 It's a DELL PowerEdge T420. I'll trawl through the DELL site now...
SHimmer45 Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Dells 2012r2 support is usually pretty good even for some of their older kit
Koldov Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 Chipset driver! Bit of a worry installing on a live 'production' server, but all done jobs a good un. Got that Friday feeling! Hope everything is still up and running come Monday... Kol.
